Well, I can now say that I rather enjoy it! After blogging for about four months now, I feel like I really did have something valuable to share with the world! Once I figured out what I wanted to write about, I became excited about blogging. Everytime I saw something great going on in school, or found a great resource to use for lesson plans, I immediately thought that I needed to blog about it! Soon, I came up with a huge list of things to write about. I think that what also struck me and inspired me to keep blogging was when a co-worker came up to me and said that she read my blog, thought it was really interesting and was looking forward to reading more! I was floored because I hadn't shared the link with anyone except my parents- who, of course, had to read it :-), and one friend who had posted it on her Facebook page, instantly sharing it with everyone! I was shocked at how fast people were checking out my website and that people were actually reading it. It makes you realize and appreciate how truly powerful the Internet can be and how quickly information can be shared and accessed. This knowledge helps to keep things in perspective by understanding the impact you can have when posting things online and responsibility that come with it. I am really glad to have had the opportunity to be able to blog about a topic that I enjoy writing about and hopefully was able to help other teachers find things to use in their classrooms. I hope that my blog helped inspire teachers to try new things in their classrooms and come up with new ideas for their lessons.
One difficulty I had with blogging is finding the time to sit and write. Sometimes life tends to get in the way and blogging took a backseat to a busy life, or to children that needed to use the computer. Even though my graduate class is concluding, I do plan to continue my blog. As technology starts to play a bigger role in our school and classrooms, I want to continue to write about the exciting projects being done by inspiring teachers. I also want to continue to provide valuable resources that can help teachers implement technology into their classrooms. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and will continue to check back for new and exciting topics and updates!
